This week at UFT
1. May 16 - Gerry O’Collins: The Second Vatican Council on Other Religions
Lunch-time seminar at the Centre for Theology & Ministry at 29 College Cres, Parkville - Room G4 on Wednesday 16 May, commencing at 1.00 pm until 2.00 pm.

2. UFT Formation Session – Friday 18 May
All students and staff are welcome to a formation session entitled
‘Our Common Land? An Indigenous Conversation’ on Friday 18 May commencing at 1:00pm - 3.10pm at the Centre for Theology and Ministry, 29 College Crescent, Parkville Vic 3052.

The session will begin over lunch provided by UFT. We will hear from three Aboriginal speakers sharing their own story particularly concerning relationship to Land, and then opening up for a conversation about the varying relationships to land that we all have. The three Aboriginal presenters are: Mathew Crane (a UFT student), Naomi Wolf (Jim-baa-yer Indigenous Higher Education Unit at ACU), and Rev. Janet Turpie Johnstone, an Anglican priest who will also be preaching at the worship service at Trinity that afternoon.

We will finish by 3.10 pm so that we can move to Trinity and conclude with UFT Worship at Trinity College Chapel for the Eucharist. If you are not in the Friday program of one of the Colleges, please RSVP to Margaret Tropea at registrar@uft.edu.au by Monday May 14 for purposes of catering.

3. UFT Worship – Friday 18 May
All students, staff and friends are invited to attend the second UFT Worship service for 2012, commencing at 3.30 pm on Friday 18 May at Trinity College Chapel (Royal Parade, Parkville). The Eucharist service will follow on from the UFT Formation Day. The preacher is the Revd Janet Turpie-Johnson who is an Indigenous Anglican priest.

4. DML Library Saturday Opening Times
The DML library will be open on the following Saturdays in Semester 1, between 1.00pm and 5.00pm: May 12 / May 19 / May 26 / June 2 and June 9

UFT News
5. 2011 Essays
Uncollected essays from 2011 are currently held at the CTM reception desk for students to collect. Students who are unable to personally collect last year’s essays may contact Bethany Broadstock at reception and forward a stamped self addressed envelope to the UFT office to have their essay/s posted. Essays will be destroyed if they are not collected by May 30.

6. First Semester 2012 Examinations Timetable
Students with written examinations should consult the examination timetable, available on the UFT noticeboards and at http://uft.edu.au/content/exam-timetables. Exam week runs from 12 June to 14 June 2012. Rules for the conduct of examinations are available in the MCD University of Divinity Academic Conduct Policy, at http://www.mcd.edu.au/policies-procedures

7. Evening Prayer: Thursdays 5.10-5.30 pm
All are welcome in the CTM chapel at 5.10pm on Thursdays for a service of evening prayer using psalms, reading and silence in the Benedictine tradition. Note the slightly later start for those who have afternoon classes.
